Editing Theme CSS

Hi,
I made the unfortunate error of editing the style.CSS theme file and after having removed my edit, the site will not load as it had prior to the change.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the theme in the admin dashboard, with no success. Please help. The edit I made was to the .container tag and simply added a height specification. I promptly removed the edit, but the site will load as expected.
