I was easily able to create a child theme for the BuildUp free template, just by creating the styles.css file as recommended by WordPress for creating a child theme. However, after I purchased BuildUp Pro theme and attempted to create a child theme, the child theme is not working and is pretty much blank. Very little styling, no content, logo, or footer.

I am assuming I have to add more than just the styles.css file to create a child theme for BuildUp Pro. Your documentation does not cover adding a child theme. Is it possible to create a child theme for BuildUp Pro? If so, what other files or definitions need to be put in the child theme folder to get it to show properly? Obviously the styles.css file is not enough.

Please advise I want to get started building this website today.

Receive this response from grace themes:

“We strongly recommend to use the PRO theme as it is because the child theme is not works properly.
If you are getting any problem in customizing the theme, you can contact us at any stage of your website development process. We are always ready to help you.”

If anyone else is thinking of Child theme it only will work for the free version of BuildUp. The paid version (BuildUp Pro) is no accepting a child theme. Guess I just have to roll with it. Hope this helps others.
