Because of the way your themes use this “Theme Options” interface, which is really horrible, clunky, and takes ages just to preview a simple change, it’s really difficult if you spend a number of hours setting up a theme, then realise that you need to create a child theme.

Because when you create a child theme, all those custom “theme options” are lost, and you have to start from scratch.

Is there a reasonable way to transfer all these settings please?

Even if I have to edit the database manually, this would be preferable to having to set everything up from scratch. Imagine how much work – you’d have to go through every setting on the original theme and write down every single color setting, every slider setting – hundreds of textareas to re-populate.

    Please help!

(Specifically I’m talking about Business Web theme, but also use Social Pro and looking to use other of your themes.)

    Hi,

We recommends to use main theme as it is. Child theme created by using our theme is not works properly in same cases.

So please use the main theme for your projects and we are always available to help you.

    Regards
