Problems with Elementor

Hi there. I’ve just purchased the MilestoneZ Pro theme and started building my website. I tried to install the Elementor plugin in order to facilitate page building, however, when activating the plugin, this message was displayed:
“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/42/9107542/html/wp-content/plugins/elementor/elementor.php on line 55”.
And then the plugin would not be installed at all. Why is this happening?
