Broken site

Hi there,
I bought the theme today and installed it. All fine, I could see the home page exactly like the one on the live preview.
I then started to try to customise it, just by changing the logo. That was enough to make the home page completely disappear and all I see now is a strange black bar and a simple menu with no styling with only to links (Home and Sample Page).
What could possibly be causing this? How can it be fixed ASAP?
