Hi Brette,
The settings to modify default contact form is not available. If you don’t want to use default contact form, you can also use Contact Form 7 plugin
https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/However with changes in code we can also modify contact form as per your requirement.
Can you please tell us what you want to modify in default contact form so we can check and assist you.The coding of contact form is placed in inc/custom-functions.php file at line no 589
